What is Microsoft Intune?
Microsoft Intune is a cloud service for managing endpoints and applications. It manages Windows, macOS, iOS and Android devices, distributes policies and apps, checks compliance and controls Windows updates. Combined with Entra ID, access can be blocked for non-compliant devices.
Typical use cases
- Provisioning Windows devices without your own image (Autopilot).
- Securing smartphones and tablets with MDM or app protection.
- Enforcing disk encryption and security policies.
- Distributing apps and updates centrally.
- Managing home office devices without them being on the company network.
Benefits and limits
Intune manages devices everywhere, needs no server infrastructure of its own and fits modern, cloud-based environments. Consider licences, dependence on Microsoft services and special cases with complex software distribution or legacy systems where Configuration Manager is stronger.
How INZOSO helps with Intune
We plan policies, profiles and application packages, test with a pilot group, roll out devices and, if needed, support the transition from group policy or Configuration Manager.
