IN DETAIL

What is Linux Mint?

Linux Mint is a user-friendly Linux distribution based on Ubuntu with a classic desktop. There are editions with the Cinnamon, MATE and Xfce desktops. The system is intended for beginners and suits Windows switchers well.

Typical use cases

  • Office workplaces with browser, email, office suite and file storage.
  • Continued use of older devices that do not support Windows 11.
  • Workplaces with high data protection requirements.
  • Test and development environments.

Benefits and limits

No licence costs, long usability even on older hardware and a good update culture speak for Mint. Windows-specific business applications do not run directly; web versions, alternatives or virtualisation help here. Central management by group policy does not apply; configuration management is used instead.

How INZOSO helps with Linux Mint

In our Labs area we set up pilot workplaces, check your business applications and connect file storage and sign-in. On this basis you decide whether and where deployment makes sense.
